Duke Energy Corporation announced today the pricing of a public offering of approximately 9.25 million shares of its common stock at $72.00 per share in connection with the forward sale agreement described below. The expected net proceeds from the offering are to be used to finance a portion of the costs of Duke's pending acquisition of Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc.
