Through the Share the Light Fund®, Duke Energy, its Foundation, customers and employees have contributed more than $670,000 in South Carolina to community agencies this year alone – helping neighbors keep their homes warm and powered when it matters most.

With temperatures expected to plummet across the Southeast early next week, heating systems will be working harder – and using more energy. Piedmont Natural Gas reminds customers of tips, tools and assistance programs that can help them manage seasonal energy bills and stay comfortable.

With frigid temperatures forecast to arrive early next week, Duke Energy is committed to helping customers save energy and money as heating systems work harder to combat the cold. By acting now, customers can take more control of their energy use – even as temperatures drop well below freezing.

In the spirit of giving and to encourage sharing warmth with neighbors, the mayors of Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro and Wilmington, N.C.; Greenville, S.C.; and Nashville, Tenn., have proclaimed Dec. 12, 2025, as “Share the Warmth Day” in their respective cities.

Duke Energy and Duke Energy Foundation are awarding $125,000 in microgrants to South Carolina nonprofits that will help bolster existing programs that help make the necessary repairs that enable households to become eligible for energy efficiency improvements and long-term cost savings.

On Giving Tuesday, Duke Energy and Duke Energy Foundation wrap up a monthlong initiative to fight hunger across South Carolina by announcing nearly $275,000 in surprise microgrants and contributions to community organizations across the state. The announcement wraps up a monthlong campaign that provided more than $600,000 to critical community partners that do this incredible work.

Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas and the Better Business Bureau are joining Utilities United Against Scams for the 10th annual Utility Scam Awareness Day on Nov. 19 – an ongoing commitment to helping customers slow down, verify and stop the scam.

With the coldest air of the season forecast to arrive early next week, Duke Energy is committed to helping customers across the Carolinas save energy and money as heating systems work harder. By acting now, customers can take more control of their energy use – even as temperatures drop well below typical November averages.

With colder-than-normal temperatures arriving across the Southeast early next week, Piedmont Natural Gas reminds customers of the company’s tips, tools and assistance programs to help manage seasonal energy bills.

Throughout November, Duke Energy will highlight critical community partners that do the incredible work to fight hunger in South Carolina. The initiative will provide over $600,000 to more than 60 feeding programs leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday and culminate in final surprise grant announcements on Giving Tuesday.
