To strengthen communities across South Carolina as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Duke Energy Foundation is awarding $275,000 to organizations through a first round of funding as part of its America250 initiative. The grants – part of a total investment of more than $550,000 in the Palmetto State – will help revitalize parks and shared green spaces, support tree planting, trail maintenance and litter prevention.

On April 18, Duke Energy recognizes National Lineworker Appreciation Day and the lineworkers who keep the lights on across South Carolina. From year-round grid work that improves reliability to storm response, lineworkers bring skill, teamwork and a strong safety focus to the work customers depend on. To help grow the workforce in the Palmetto State, Duke Energy Foundation is granting $75,000 to programs in South Carolina that train tomorrow’s lineworkers.

To strengthen communities across Florida as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the Duke Energy Foundation is awarding $22,500 to five nonprofit organizations through its America250 initiative.

This initial grantmaking reflects the Duke Energy Foundation’s broader America250 commitment, with additional investments in veterans’ workforce development and civics education to follow later this spring.

Duke Energy Foundation is investing $500,000 in South Carolina communities through its Helping Emergency Response Organizations (HERO) grant program to support weather-related emergency preparedness and response across the Palmetto State. Beginning March 19, South Carolina government agencies and qualified nonprofits can apply for grants up to $20,000 to fund training, equipment and materials to increase resiliency to major weather events and recovery operations. Applications close April 25.
