Funds will support disaster relief efforts in communities heavily impacted by Hurricane Florence
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Piedmont Natural Gas today announced a $30,000 donation to the American Red Cross to help communities recover and rebuild after Hurricane Florence. Funds will be distributed to the areas experiencing some of the worst devastation in eastern North Carolina, and will be used for immediate disaster relief, including food, shelter, supplies and volunteer deployment.
"We're preparing for long-term disaster response and recovery, which is why we're thankful for organizations such as Piedmont Natural Gas who are investing in their communities' recovery efforts," said Angela A. Broome Powley, regional chief executive officer for the American Red Cross Greater Carolinas Region. "This is a heartbreaking situation, but with support from organizations like Piedmont, the Red Cross can reach even more individuals who need help."
